It's almost the end of 2019 and it's time to leave past hairstyles behind. 2020 is ramping up to be a creative year for new hair colors, accessories and even cuts, and we've rounded up the best. So what's in store? Lots of bobs and throwback looks, but no need to be intimidated by any of these styles—you can rock them out in your own way.

We caught up with Antoinette Beenders, Global Creative Director and Senior Vice President of Creative at Aveda, and asked her what's hot for hairstyles in 2020 and beyond:

What hair looks are you forecasting to be the top trends of 2020?
"The hair looks I think we’ll be seeing in the coming year are super-sleek, straight and shiny hair, and more of the natural “your-hair-but-better” looks that we’ve seen a lot of this year. Seventies fashion and beauty made a big comeback on the Spring/Summer 2020 runways and I think this will translate into hair as well."

Kaia Gerber celebrated her 18th birthday by cutting off copious amounts of her medium-length brunette hair, creating this cropped 90s-era style. Lookalikes have been spotted everywhere.

Gel is back from the 90s! Kendall Jenner wears this slicked back 'do, which was created with gel and hairspray for Versace's fashion show in Milan.
